They seek to establish a support network between entrepreneurs in the villages to boost tourism in the region. CANAL DE CASTILLA CYCLING ROUTE
The Canal de Castilla cycling route is one of the most important cycle touring routes in the country. It is an artificial waterway that runs through part of the provinces of Burgos, Palencia and Valladolid. It was one of the most important hydraulic engineering works in Spain, built between the 18th and 19th centuries. It was built as a communication and transport waterway to solve the problem of isolation of the plateau to transport agricultural products from the region. Leave the accommodation, take the bike and start a simple and well signposted route, you will enjoy nature like never before!

Walk along the Canal de Castilla, along its towpaths, the places where the pack mules pulled the boats full of wheat along the canal to the northern ports. Discover the jetties and locks of the most important engineering work of the Spanish Enlightenment.
You can start the route just a few metres from our charming sustainable hotel. Cross the flat countryside and its palette of colours for 13 km along a well signposted route with 75 metres of gradient and along the way you will be accompanied by partridges, bustards and hares. The trail starts at the Ermita del Cristo de San Felices in Becerril de Campos, and legend has it that a devout woman used to walk this route until the release of her imprisoned son.
